Platelets roll on different vWF site densities with biphasic velocity curves that align with wall shear stress but not with wall shear rate. Platelets suspended in medium without or with 6% Ficoll were perfused through a flow chamber containing immobilized vWF in a range of flow rates. The flow chamber was coated with 100 μg/ml (AC) or 440 μg/ml (C) vWF, resulting in the site densities shown in C.
