The benefit of aspirin is well established in cardiovascular prevention, and involves the
irreversible inhibition of platelet cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and, as a consequence,
decreased thromboxane levels [1]. In addition to inhibition of platelet aggregation, aspirin
